Aligning Indicators with Sectoral Goals in Justice and Safety

December 22, 2017

Justice reform initiatives often produce cross-institutional effects throughout the justice sector. Justice officials need tools that would inform them about these collective effects of their efforts. Indicators can be such tools if they are aligned with sectoral goals, and capture interagency relationships.

In this video of the series, Developing Governance Indicators in Justice and Safety: A Country-Led Approach, Selen Siringil Perker, explains how governance indicators can help justice officials manage system-wide effects of their reform initiatives, strengthen cross-institutional cooperation and stimulate sectoral improvements drawing on the PCJ’s experience in Sierra Leone supporting the efforts to improve the response to sexual and gender-based violence.
